If you’re a small business or an SME, check out this great marketing opportunity!

What it is

Now in its seventh year in the UK, the Small Business Saturday campaign is a grassroots, non-commercial campaign, which highlights small business success and encourages consumers to ‘shop local’ and support small businesses in their communities.

Small Business Saturday has grown significantly each year, with an estimated £812m spent in small businesses across the UK during 2018’s Small Business Saturday – an 8% increase on the previous year.

The day itself takes place on the first Saturday in December each year, but the campaign aims to have a lasting impact on small businesses.

On Small Business Saturday, customers across the UK go out and support all types of small businesses, online, in offices and in stores. Many small businesses take part in the day by hosting events and offering discounts.

Why get involved

Small Business Saturday UK really does make a big difference to small business communities everywhere and CQ Bid Manager, Gareth Neill, believes that CQ businesses can benefit greatly from this initiative.

“We are proud as a Business District to host a vast array of small independent businesses.  The area is awash of success stories for Belfast and we are delighted to support the Small Business Saturday campaign.

‘I would encourage every small business and SME in Cathedral Quarter to sign up now for the Small Business Saturday UK initiative. The statistics clearly show that this campaign is growing year on year and CQ businesses should not miss out on the opportunity to benefit from this fantastic  opportunity.

A key tool for business is promoting yourself, yet sometimes we leave that to the bottom of the to-do list. Small Business Saturday  is a great way to shout about your story, your business and reap the reward of a national marketing campaign. “
